The award recognizes a junior academic (10 years or less on the tenure track or 40 and under) who has “demonstrated excellence in legal scholarship, a commitment to teaching, a concern for students, and who has made a significant public impact in a manner that advances the rule of law in a free society.” Congratulations Professor Campbell!

On Feb. 25, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Lackey v. Stinnie that plaintiffs who obtain a preliminary injunction that provides plaintiffs concrete, irreversible relief are not “prevailing parties” under 42 U.S.C. § 1988(b) and are therefore ineligible for attorney’s fees.
